Seth Serxner, PhD, MPH, is a nationally recognized expert in workforce health and wellbeing with over 25 years of experience in public health, population health management, and organizational behavior. As a senior advisor at Kumanu, he focuses on strategies that integrate personal purpose with organizational culture to improve performance and wellbeing.

Seth Serxner, PhD, MPH, is a senior advisor to Kumanu and one of the nation’s foremost experts in workforce health, wellbeing, and population health management. With more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of public health, organizational behavior, and strategic consulting, Seth brings a deep understanding of what it takes to drive meaningful, measurable change across large, complex organizations.

As the former Chief Health Officer and Senior Vice President of Population Health at Optum, Seth led enterprise-wide initiatives to improve employee health, drive engagement, and deliver value through integrated wellbeing strategies. He played a key role in shaping some of the largest employer health programs in the country and has worked closely with Fortune 500 companies, health plans, and national policymakers.

Seth is passionate about advancing approaches that align personal purpose with organizational culture—bridging individual motivation and systemic change to improve both human and business outcomes. His work has helped shift the field toward more holistic, inclusive, and purpose-centered models of wellbeing.

He is also the co-author of Wellbeing 3.0: A Roadmap for Thriving People and Organizations, a widely shared white paper that reframes wellbeing as a strategic imperative grounded in purpose, compassion, and the science of human thriving.

Seth holds a PhD in Public Health and an MPH, and continues to be a respected thought leader, speaker, and advisor in the evolving world of workforce health.
